2nd Day on the Bike…

April 27, 2008 10:25 am

One of the great things about this blog is that I get to cover industry news, parts and personal experiences.  When it comes down to it, my greatest joy is getting out on the trail, and now I get to share it with the woman that I am going to spend my life with.  Things couldn’t be any better.

So I am sure many of you saw my entry on Jenn’s first ride ever on a mountain bike…if you didn’t…it’s right here. On that trip we only hit the Mosquito Bite and Flats trails.

Well today, after doing those trails over again, I decided it was time to hit Dwelling. She did great! We were just careful to take breaks when we needed to and other than that…she handled it like a champ. I do think that she is figuring out that mtn. biking shape is a little different than normal, but I assured her that it comes pretty quickly and gets better with each ride. I was actually really surprised about how well she really did. Her bike handling skills came a long way in two short rides. I have a feeling that “hey babe, wait up” is going to be a large part of my vocabulary in the near future.

Like I said before, her bike handling skills are really coming a long way in a few short rides.  Off camber small switchbacks around obstacles were a breeze.  Check out this shot around the cut down tree.

Of course, I was having some new fun too.  There will be a full Moots review in the near future thanks to this gem.

And are we perfect for each other of what…her quote of the day…

“I really like the downhills, but not the climbing…”
