Moab/Fruita is a mtb classic.
Pisgah is the promised land for the east coast in my opinion...fantastic riding (going there this weekend)
FATS is a roller coaster but go when it isn't humid.

I've been to Moab/Fruita twice in the last 2 years and plan on making it an annual trip. Moab is a great place to ride and is truly a Mecca for any mountain biker.
I've camped over the weekend in NC several times to ride the Tsali trail system and the Pisgah/DuPont area trails.
I plan on camping near the FATS Trail system in SC.
I would love to visit Jackson Hole, WY in the summer to ride the efforts of the Teton Freedom Riders.
Riding different areas brings home a little piece of where you went with your riding and lets you appreciate your home trails that much more.

my 1st bike vacation was Moab back in 1999.
Almost rode straight off a cliff.
Got lost from the group too.
Ahh...good times.

I did the Fruita Fat Tire Fest in 2005.
Flew with my bike on that trip.
Nothing like driving to Fruita from Denver.
Last day in Fruita was rainy,
which meant Denver was under 6" of snow.
Driving a rental van past Vail was hairy.

I'm only 4hrs from Pisgah,
I sneak across the border often.
Spent 4hrs doing N. Mills last weekend.
