Ever just have one of those days?
Well, I did today. I headed up to Rich Mountain (which is a killer of a ride anyway) with some friends today, and I just could not control my heart rate. It was peaking over and over again on stuff that should have been nothing! I had to cut the ride short and head back to the car which was a really long, steep climb and a long downhill away. This was the first time in about as long as I can remember that I actually cut a ride short. It is just not like me to do that…normally I will just stick it out.
I made the decision to take it extremely easy on the climb so I would have something left for the dh. Man did that pay off! I got into a rhythm on the downhill that I haven’t felt in awhile! Nothing but pure flow with just me and the mountain. Before the descent, I let a good amount of air out of the tires and just hit it. It was one of those the “bike and I are one moments” all the way down. Everything just hit exactly the way it was supposed to, and it made all of the torture distant memory. Big jumps, big speed and big smile is about the only way I can describe it. Just pure bliss on a bike. Everything was in control and big.
On a side note…the Mojo was fun and all, but NOTHING compares to the Terremoto once I get that thing pointed down. If I have to walk every climb for the rest of my life to get that feeling…I will. It is a blast, and every time gravity helps…I am reminded that I bought the best bike on the planet.
Sorry…no pictures at this time, but when Mama gets home…I may have one or two. Until then…enjoy the rest of your Sunday.

It was good to have you along for some of the ride, even if you did have to cut it short. Been there, done that plenty of times….no worries! We’ll see you on the next ride:)
