Might have been old stock. The site (greenfish) had them listed as 2009 model. I was a bit bummed that mine didn't have detachable liner like the one pictured. I much prefer shorts with separate liners.

Doug,

The liner is detachable in mine. Did they send you some old ones?

Well, I picked up a set of Rangers. They are on their way back to the vendor though. For one the liner isn't removable (was yours? looks like it from the pic). Next the waist was swimming. No prob, snug down the velcro. Well, let's just say the velcro isn't confidence inspiring. Okay, I can use them with a belt. Doh! No belt loops. Last item of note, not much room for junk in the trunk. Despite going a size larger in the waist than my sergeants these shorts appear to be even less roomy out back. A loose waist and small trunk are bound to lead to plumbers crack.

I wanted to like these shorts, but in the end they are cut just wrong for me.

They are not as stretchy as the Seargents. They are a snug 34 though...

Nice initial report. Are these stretchy? I just got a pair of Seargent shorts and was surprised just how stretchy they are. Very cool material. Looks like the same chamois too. How is the sizing? My Seargents were a snug 38, this was a bit of a surprise to me as my 38in 07 epic shorts are huge (more like 40in on them).
