I want to add some tech now that there are full suspension bikes out there. Adjust the derailleur a little on the low side so when the suspension compresses and the housing flexes it will center itself. otherwise if you center it it will ghost shift in g outs, while standing, or on big bumps. my 2 cents.

Dino,

Get that top one set to 1/4" or slightly under. The bottom is not as crucial on distance.

SIR ROBB, I'M USING SRAM X9 RD, CAN I ADJUST MY RD LIMITER EVEN IF IT'S ALREADY INSTALLED? ACTUALLY I DID TRY TO ADJUST IT BUT, I CAN'T GET THAT 1/4" CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE SMALL COG AND UPPER PULLEY, BUT IN THE UPPER PULLEY I GOT THE 1/4' CLEARANCE, IT SEEMS THAT WHEN I'M ADJUSTING THE LIMITER AT THE LOWER COG TO MEET THE 1/4' CLEARANCE, THE CLEARANCE OF THE LARGEST COG BETWEEN THE UPPER PULLEY IS GETTING SMALLER AND SMALLER THAN 1/4", WHAT WILL I DO ROBB HELP ME PLS., I THINK PROPER AND RIGHT ADJUSTMENT OF THE RD = BETTER PERFORMANCE OF THE DRIVE TRAIN OVERALL. THNAKS IN ADVANCE!! MORE POWER BRO!

Robb, I know the large / large +2 links is a rule of thumb, but I've also found equally effective is small / small and just enough links to prevent the RD cage from dragging the chain. This makes sure the chain is tight enough not to fall off over rocky terrain. It's good with triples and long cage RDs, but probably not great for Short / Mid cage 1x9s...

hey robb, the next trips are in Peru (http://sacredrides.com/tours/peru/incatrail) on May 24 and Utah (http://sacredrides.com/tours/utah/slickrock) on May 26.

Sadly I'm not going on these trips, but I am heading to BC in June to get our season underway there and running a skills camp here in Ontario next weekend. Looking forward to getting my new DeVinci Remix SL5 next week and riding the hell out of it!

Another page for my maintenance files. Excellent and very clearly laid out.
Dude, you need to write a maintenance manual.
