I have the original blast rated at 650 lumens or so. Great light. Had it for 3 years and it’s been flawless. The amount of light-again this is the 650 lumen-is insane.

I’ve talked to the guys at Jet Lites a few times and they are solid also. You can pretty much call anytime and they have been great.

One thing worth noting-last time I talked with Jet on the phone they offered to upgrade my original blast to the 1000 lumen for $150.

When only running one light, I prefer it on the bars, so that it casts shadows my eyes can see to just depth better. If my only light is on my head, it tends to wash out the texture of the trail and makes it hard to see dips and bumbs. My preferred setup is a floodlight on the bars, and a bright spotlight on my head.

Hi,

I’ve owned this light for about 6 months and I have spent alot of night time rides AND road commuting with it. It is just as good as Rob says – only better. When you are riding in rain on the road, this things REALLY lights up the road and makes you incredibly visible to drivers.

On the trail, I find that the one thing I do not like about the light is that it does compress the depth of certain objects. This can be good (or bad) depending on your perspective. I have ended up attempting certain features I would not try during the day. It isn’t that bad, as I have never crashed on account of this.

According to Jet Lites…the quick charge feature is 2.5 hours.

Sounds like a beast of a light! Once drained how long does it take to recharge the battery pack? Or is there a ‘quick charge’ feature?

I’m hoping to get in a few 24h endurance races in this summer and I’d rather not buy a separate battery if I can avoid it.
