Monte Sano Fat Tire Mountain Bike Festival

Really late notice – but a group of us are heading up to the Monte Sano Fat Tire Mountain Bike Festival this weekend in Huntsville, AL at Monte Sano State Park. In all reality, I have probably been telling these guys that I would make it out to ride their rock filled trails for over a year now, and – finally – I have made the commitment to head over and shred.

The Monte Sano Fat Tire Festival has rides, events and other stuff to keep riders and people of all ages occupied for the weekend. It should be a great event with mountain biking, food, camping and all around mischief. I’m looking forward to getting out and seeing what the trails in Alabama have to offer and I know my wife is ready to get out and enjoy the weekend on her bike.

I should have posted this a couple of days earlier because early registration is over and it is now 55 bones to play, but you get a swag bag, food and the proceeds go to help the SORBA chapter in that area. All good things to throw some money at.

Thanks to SSINGA (which should really be SSINAL now), we have some pictures of what we should be able to expect on some of the more technical trails in the area. I absolutely LOVE rocky trails…so the Niner WFO 9 is going to get some suspension workout over the course of the weekend.

Mountain bike festivals are a great time to get away from the rat race and just ride your bike all weekend with old friends and new.
