Poll: How Many Bikes Do You Own??

November 27, 2009 10:03 am

With so many different options for mountain, road, commuter or other specialty forms of bikes out there, cyclists now have the luxury of owning 2 wheeled machines that can be different horses for different courses. Remember when there only used to be one option? A bike! Now…with technology constantly evolving…I have more than “just a bike” in my garage.

Even recreational mountain bikers are starting to evolve their stables into road bikes and singlespeeds as they continue to expand their obsession into other forms of pedal induced forward motion. Out of pure curiosity…I want to know how many bikes you are currently holding in your stable. If you are feeling froggy…list them down in the comments section so we can all get an idea of what is hitting the trail these days.

  • Old steel Hardtail from 96 used to pull the kids trailer with, Santa Cruz BLT, Cannondale CAAD6 road bike, and a Surly single speed.

  • My do it all bike is a 2008 Kona Hei Hei 2-9. Also picked up a ~ 1991 Trek 1400, but it's not really street worthy quite yet, but plan to put a few road miles on it when it's done.

  • I have a Masi road bike, a GT XCR 4000 squishy bike (by squishy, I mean in desperate need of some stiffer fork springs and a better shock), and an old Trek 820. And then there's my wife's el-cheapo Murray. That's going to be the first bike replaced next year.

  • 26″ Haro hardtail mtb, 29″ Haro Mary 1×9 hardtail mtb, 29″ Motobecane hardtail full rigid set up w/ slicks for greenway, 58 cm Masi roadbike. we also have a vintage schwinn tandem; my son has both roadbike and 26″ Haro hardtail, my wife rides a 26″ Haro ht also.

  • My absolute favourite bike, a 2005 Santa Cruz Chamaleon set up as single speed, a 2005 Santa Cruz Blur, a 2009 Santa Cruz Blur LT2 and a Specialized Allez.

  • santa cruz blur xc (for the trail) and a giant bowery fixed gear (to get to work).

  • Once upon a time lots of bikes (4 or 5). These days a Marin Wolf dually and a Salsa Fargo.

  • Specialized FSR and a Bianchi Via Narone in celeste of course! In the graveyard are my old Trek 820 and my Haro FSX freestyle bike. Still working on my pogos.

  • I've got a Raleigh hybrid, a Campy-equipped Bianchi road bike, and most recently a custom -built Giant XTC2. A “roadie” at heart, the Giant is my first foray into the world of mountain biking. I'm loving it!

  • '07 Specialized Enduro is my go-to do everything MTB ride. '92 Bontrager Hardtail being rebirthed as an SS. '86 Connondale Road bike, still fast and at 22 lbs., not bad for a 23 year old ride. :-)
